Uzbekistan will be playing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico. The white wolves secured their first-ever world cup qualification when they drew 0-0 away at United Arab Emirates and then crown a historic campaign by emphatic 3-0 win against Qatar.
Following the 3-0 victory in the World Cup qualifier against Qatar, 40 BYD cars were rolled out onto the field, and ignition keys were handed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to each of the players and coaching staff of Uzbekistan’s national football team. Each BYD car worth around $50,000.
Uzbekistan finished second in the group. With Iran, finishing First in the same group, also made it to the final tournament through automatic qualifications. The UAE and Qatar will continue fighting for the World Cup spot in the next qualification round.
The 2026 World Cup is poised to make history. With the upcoming edition being the first to take place in three countries: USA, Mexico, and Canada. A total of 16 cities in this trio of nations will act as hosts, and will feature 104 matches with 48 teams competing across 16 host cities in the three countries.
